Citizen Eco-Drive World Chronograph AT AT8010-58E

A world traveler can go crazy constantly having to re-set his watch frequently.  2 years ago, Citizen introduced the World Perpetual AT, which made changing timezones easier than ever before by allowing the user to pull the crown out one click and change cities by turning the crown.  From there, the watch would automatically adjust itself.  Continuing on with this technology (and even more advanced), Citizen has introduced the  Citizen Eco-Drive World Chronograph AT.

I have to admit, this watch is very impressive, and I have handled many way above its price point.  Features are everything when it comes to Citizen and they did not lack on this model in any way.  To start, the Citizen Eco-Drive World Chronograph AT is Radio Controlled, and will sync to any of the 4 different areas (Japan, England, Germany and USA) that submit the radio controlled signal to update the accuracy.

Not only does this piece keep near perfect time, but also has a 1/20th of a sec chronograph which is very easy to use.  The watch has a standard time keeping mode.  While it is in this mode, you can push the top right pusher to switch to chronograph mode.  From there you push the top right pusher again to activate the chronograph.  Press it again and it will pause the chrono.  Push the lower right button and the chrono will reset.  Push that lower right button again and it goes back into time keeping mode.

Eco-Drive is solar powered (as I’m sure most of you know) and will generally last about 6 months in the dark before dying and needing to be re-charged.  This model has a sleep mode, which if in the dark for over 30 min, the watch will go into.  This adds about 4 months to the power reserve, making for 10 months in the dark before needing a recharge.

You can check the energy level on the watch by pushing the lower right button while in time keeping mode.  This will be displayed on the left side of the sub dial below 12 o’clock.

At a retail price of $575, it’s going to be tough to beat.  Functionality, accuracy and quality are all adding up to make this an incredible piece at a killer price.  Even better, you can purchase it for $435.25 directly through our website.
