JEANRICHARD Aquascope Grey “Hokusai” Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

To celebrate 150 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Japan, JEANRICHARD has introduced a series of special release timepieces honoring this relationship.  In 1864, the two countries signed a trade agreement and established a friendship that still proves strong today.  As a small production item for 2014, JEANRICHARD has intrduced their gorgeous diver model the Aquascope, with a very unique “Hokusai” dial.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

The reference to the name Hokusai comes from famous Japanese artist during the Edo period, Katsushika Hokusai.  Hokusai created ukiyo-e wood block prints, and became most renowned for his work, Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.  The most popular in this series is The Great Wave of Kanagawa.   Created sometime in the 1830’s, the image depicted boats caught in a tremendous wave with Mount Fuji in the background.  This new JEANRICHARD Aquascope features an engraved dial featuring this illustration.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

The 44mm stainless steel case of the Aquascope has a beautiful combination of satin and incredibly high polished attributes.  The 60 minute divers bezel is also completely stainless steel with the circular satin finish on the top, and high polish on the teeth of the 120 click uni-directional bezel.  Though the case is over 13mm thick and 44mm wide, the pieces short lugs make it very wearable on most any size wrist.  The lugs are actually a part of the case side inserts that are attached to the inner cushion case.  The JR cases are one of the most elaborate produced in their price range, using over 20 different parts.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

The Aquascope will feature a 300m water resistance with screw down crown.  The branded crown lacks no detail with JR logo on the end, and a colosseum design on the sides.  Sapphire crystal is utilized and has anti-reflective coating to eliminate glare.  The overall design is stunning, and the amount of detail expressed throughout is very impressive.  I can easily say, the quality standard of JR as a brand is top of the line, even though the prices are modest.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

Inside it’s closed case back is the Sellita based, JR60 movement.  This modified self-winding caliber has 28,800 bph, 26 jewels, hand winding, hack, and a minimal power reserve of 38 hours. This movement only displays 3 hand time, and a date displayed between 4:00 and 5:00.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

The hands and indexes of this model are rhodium coated, beautifully finished and give dominant legibility.  A unique aspect to the “Hokusai” model is that the indexes are actually not applied to the actual dial.  Instead, they are attached to the chapter ring and float slightly above the dial.  This technique allows for the dials engraving to be without interruption and also gives a more three dimensional presence.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

Of course, the luminous material on this diver is very strong and bright, providing great night time legibility.  The 60 minute mark on the bezel is luminous, as well as all 3 hands and each index.  The lume for the index lies in the middle of each index, sandwiched between the rhodium coated attributes.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

The strap is black rubber, ribbed and branded with the JR logo.  The strap also features a well constructed dual push button deployment clasp, with two steel inserts to secure the clasp to the strap.

JeanRichard Aquascope Grey "Hokusai" Dial 60400-11E202-FK6A

The “Hokusai” Aquascopes will come in 4 color variations, with the grey being sold as an exclusive to AZ Fine Time in the US.  The MSRP on this piece is $3,300, and is now available at AZFT.

JEANRICHARD – Live From Basel

This year had an entire arsenal of new watches, ranging in a wide variety of color combos, new techniques and impressive, stunning designs.  We are proud to bring you all of the  new models introduced by one of our favorite brands, JEANRICHARD.

JEANRICHARD 1681 DLC 60320-11-652-HB6A

JEANRICHARD 1681 DLC 60320-11-652-HB6A

We’ve seen some intro’s online of some of the new models introduced by the brand.  One of which was their Nocturnal collection.  The 1681 series has an all black sand blasted DLC finish with black matt dial, and features their in-house manufactured JR1000 movement.

JEANRICHARD 1681 DLC 60320-11-851-HB6A

JEANRICHARD 1681 DLC 60320-11-851-HB6A

Very similar to the all black version, JR also introduced a beige grained dial variation, adding legibility to the line up.

JEANRICHARD 1681 Brown PVD 60320-11-653-HB6A

JEANRICHARD 1681 Brown PVD 60320-11-653-HB6A

Also added to the 1681 lineup is a new take of PVD coating in brown.  The sandblasted finish looks very impressive in person, and will actually patina over time.

JEANRICHARD 1681 Brown PVD 60320-11-852-FKBA

JEANRICHARD 1681 Brown PVD 60320-11-852-FKBA

Basically, over time, the finish of the PVD color will start to slightly change color over time, giving even more character to an already gorgeous piece.  This patina is something we have not seen in a coating finish before.  Pretty incredible stuff by our friends at JEANRICHARD.

JEANRICHARD 1681 Blue Lacquer 18k Gold 60330-52-401-BB40-1

JEANRICHARD 1681 Blue Lacquer 18k Gold 60330-52-401-BB40-1

The 1681 series has also introduced 2 new blue lacquer dials as seen before in there Terrascope series.  The first model is pictured in in an 18k pink gold and features there JR1090 movement, with small seconds at 9:00.  This model will come on a dark blue alligator strap.

JEANRICHARD 1681 Blue Lacquer Steel

JEANRICHARD 1681 Blue Lacquer Steel

The stainless steel variant with blue lacquer contains their JR1000 movement with central seconds and arabic numerals.  The highly polished case with vibrant blue calfskin strap are another great addition to the series.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand White 60660-21G751-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand White 60660-21G751-FK6A

As a whole new variation of the Aeroscope series, the 3 handed Aeroscopes will come in a nice variety of matt colors including, white, black, grey, blue and green.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Black 60660-21G651-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Black 60660-21G651-FK6A

All the cases on the 3 hand Aeroscopes will come in a sandblasted finish with 60 minute bezel.  This is a new take on the finish, as previous Aeroscope chrono’s had satin and high polish finish.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Grey 60660-21G251-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Grey 60660-21G251-FK6A

Another interesting attribute of the line up is the numerals/indexes used in the series.  They are actually 3D printed out of luminous material, making the numerals glow not only on the top, but also on the sides.  A new and unique feature by JR.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Green 60660-21BA51-FK6A-1

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Green 60660-21BA51-FK6A-1

The matt colored dials are outstanding looking in person.  The military green especially.  These are not the typical vibrant colors you typically see from the brand.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Blue 60660-21B451-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 3 Hand Blue 60660-21B451-FK6A

The dark navy blue dial is also very impressive. The 44mm cases on both the blue and green are finished in a sandblasted DLC finish, giving even more variety to the line up.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21L752-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21L752-FK6A

Also newly added to the Aeroscope series is a sandblasted set of chronographs.  The case design is still the same and also still uses grade 5 titanium, but the new finish makes it clear visually that these models are indeed titanium.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21L654-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21L654-FK6A

The bezel on these new Aeroscopes now feature a tachymeter instead of a 60 minute counter.  Very appropriate for a chrono, and also contributes a lot to the look.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21L252-FK6A-1

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21L252-FK6A-1

This new series also has a new dial design.  Instead of using the vertical satin finish, they will all have a very cool honeycomb textured dial.  It’s not subtle, easily being seen at first glance, and looks incredible in person.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21M652-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Honeycomb 60650-21M652-FK6A

There will as be a sandblasted DLC variation in the series.  Only the black honeycomb dial will come in the DLC case.  The tachymeter and numerals will be highlighted in white, and the red second hand gives that little bit of extra character.

JEANRICHARD Aquascope White Matt Dial Blue Bezel 60400-11D705-FK4A

JEANRICHARD Aquascope White Matt Dial Blue Bezel 60400-11D705-FK4A

The Aquascope series added a few new models, and one of the favorites in the JR booth was the new blue bezel with white matt dial.  The indexes are slightly different, being attached to the chapter ring instead of the dial, making them float above the dial.  Very impressive.

JEANRICHARD Aquascope "Hokusai" Grey 60400-11B402-FK4A-1

JEANRICHARD Aquascope “Hokusai” Grey 60400-11B402-FK4A-1

The pre-Basel launch of the “Hokusai” series was incredibly well received even before landing here in Basel.  The series features beautifully embossed dials with the artists “Great Wave of Kanangawa” texture.  1st in the series is the grey dial, which is far more impressive in person as compared to the pictures online.  All of these models will be very limited, and the grey dial in particular will be exclusive to AZ Fine Time in the USA.

JEANRICHARD Aquascope "Hokusai" Blue 60400-11B402-FK4A-1

JEANRICHARD Aquascope “Hokusai” Blue 60400-11B402-FK4A-1

One of my personal favorites is the blue variation.  I’ve always loved the standard Aquascope, blue dial, and this model just bumped that love up one more level.  Seeing as these pieces are made to celebrate 150 years of Swiss – Japanese relations, I felt it was only appropriate to add one to my collection.  This blue “Hokusai” is inbound and soon to be on my wrist.

JEANRICHARD Aquascope "Hokusai" Black Blue 60400-11-G606-FK6A-1

JEANRICHARD Aquascope “Hokusai” Black Blue 60400-11-G606-FK6A-1

There were also 2 surprise models in the “Hokusai” series.  The 1st is black dialed, PVD coated variant, with cool blue accents.

JEANRICHARD Aquascope "Hokusai" Black Red 60400-11G608-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Aquascope “Hokusai” Black Red 60400-11G608-FK6A

The second model is virtually the same, but using luminous red accents for the indexes and hands.  Both pieces are stunning in person.

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Bronze Dial 60500-11-20D-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Bronze Dial 60500-11-20D-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Bronze Dial 60500-11-602-FK6A

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Bronze Dial 60500-11-602-FK6A

The Terrascope series had a whole lot of new models added to the line.  Two of the models have a very unique bronze dial, that has a scratched up texture to it.  These are both very impressive in person.  One of which is all steel finish and comes on a matching brown pin ostrich strap giving a more dressy look.  The other comes on rubber strap with PVD coated inner case, giving a little more sportiness.  Both look outstanding.

There are quite a few black toned models in the assortment of new Terrascope’s.  The color combos are excellent, varying DLC with combo’s of gold tone on the dial or bezel, or case sides.  Basically, you have a ton of new, ultra-cool models can touch on any style.

A new art series was also debuted with very colorful, unique paint splash designs on the dial and strap.  There is one model in the line up that does not have color, but white paint splashes.

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Art series Colors Aluminum Titanium 60500-10-702-FK4A

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Art series Colors Aluminum Titanium 60500-10-702-FK4A

Probably one of the most unique and colorful JR’s is the new Terrascope that has a specially treated aluminum case.  A green bezel, orange inner case and blue case side inserts make for something we have not seen before.  The white matt dial has blue indexes with orange luminous material at the tips and on the hands.  The case back on this piece is the only part not treated aluminum, but titanium, ,keeping the weight extremely light.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Red Arsenal

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Silver Arsenal

JEANRICHARD Terrascope Silver Arsenal

In collaboration with their new partner Arsenal Soccer Club, JEANRICHD has launched two new models with the team.  There will be a DLC coated Aeroscope chronograph with red honeycomb dial, and red carbon composite bumpers around the pushers.  The continuos running second hand sub-dial has the Arsenal cannon logo for the hand.  The Terrascope is slightly more subdued, with vertical satin silver dial, black chapter ring, and red luminous material at the tip of the index and for the hands.  The Arsenal cannon logo is located right above the 6:00.

Tons of great new things from JEANRICHARD this year, very exciting and most all of these products should be out by June!

JEANRICHARD – Pre-Basel Releases and News

JEANRICHARD Celebrates Japan The Great Wave off Kanagawa

JEANRICHARD Celebrates Japan with “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” Aquascope

JEANRICHARD has been on a roll lately launching new models, signing with great partners, and collaborating with a variety of celebrities.  The latest news in the JR world is their launch of two new Aquascope models, honoring the 150th anniversary of Swiss-Japanese diplomatic relations.

JEANRICHARD Celebrates Japan The Great Wave off Kanagawa

Both of the models in this line up will have a special dial, showing a subtle embossing of “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” ukiyo-e print, by Japanese artist Katsuhika Hokusai from the early 1830’s.  The first variation will have blue dial with blue PVD inner case and a blue rubber strap.

JEANRICHARD Celebrates Japan The Great Wave off KanagawaThe second variation will have a unique grayish type colored dial, black rubber strap and full stainless case.  It appears as if distribution in the US market will be extremely limited.  More info will follow at Basel Fair at the end of this month.

JEANRICHARD Partners with Arsenal Football Club

Some big news from JEANRICHARD is their recent partnership with London’s Arsenal Football Club.  The new relationship between JR and Arsenal has already taken effect and I’m sure there will be some great results from this venture.  The Arsenal soccer team is currently the 4th highest valued soccer club and has an amazing record in the sport, winning 49 straight games in row making them the only team to go the entire Premier League season without a loss in 2003-2004.

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers Collection

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers Collection

The introduction of the Nocturnal Adventurers collection is truly exciting for a blacked out stealth look.  The series will be released sometime soon after Basel and will have three different styles to choose from.

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers 1681

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers 1681

1st will be the 1681 with DLC coated cushion case and a dark gray coating on the numerals.  The hands will have a vintage styled lume and date, giving it nice legibility.  This model will feature their in-house manufactured JR1000 automatic movement.

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers Terrascope 18k Gold and Steel

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers Terrascope 18k Gold and Steel

Second is their two tone Terrascope.  The case is stainless steel with 18k pink gold inserts on the case sides.  The hands and indexes are pink gold plated contrasting the black matte dial and will come on black alligator strap.

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers Terrascope Black

JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventurers Terrascope Black

The third piece in the Nocturnal collection is the Terrascope with black DLC coating, black dial and sandblasted rhodium coated hands.  One thing is to be said about the new JR Nocturnal collection is that they did an excellent job of making these all black pieces easily legible.

JEANRICHARD Simon J.C. Le Bon Duran Duran

JEANRICHARD – Simon J.C. Le Bon

In other JR news, they have two new “friends” of the brand.  One being Simon Le Bon, most well know as the lead singer from Duran Duran. Here we see him wearing his new black dialed 1681 in 18k pink gold with the in-house manufactured JR1090 movement.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Dan Spitz

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope Dan Spitz

Another “friend” of JR is Dan Spitz, former lead guitarist for Anthrax.  In 1995, Spitz left the music industry to pursue watchmaking.  His grandfather was a watchmaker who inspired his decision.  Spitz has an incredible list of credentials including diplomas from WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Program), Bulova, Chopard (in which he is complication expert),and a whole lot more.  Basically, he’s a genius and I highly recommend checking out his credentials page. It’s an insane amount of qualification to work on just about any timepiece out there.  The picture shown above was from Twitter, where Dan Spitz mentioned this watch to be BETA #1 with himself and JEANRICHARD.   Spitz is a father of autistic twins and also states in the tweet, “This endeavor will help autism avenues through time and music”.  Truly great intentions behind their upcoming collaboration.

JEANRICHARD 1681 Blue Lacquer Steel 18k gold

Finally, the pre-Basel launch of the new 1681 with blue lacquer dial has started to hit the web.  This is the same blue lacquer found on the Terrascope.  There will be both a stainless steel cushion case, or an 18k rose gold cushion case, with in-house manufactured JR1000 and JR1090 movements.

Lots of great stuff to look forward to from JEANRICHARD!  Be sure to follow AZFT for hands on pictures of all the new JR products during the Basel World Fair 2014!

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The importance of time is something that can be truly under valued.  On January 15th 2009, US Airways flight 1549 left LaGuardia Airport at 3:25pm headed for Charlotte, NC.  The commercial flight carrying 150 passengers and 5 of the flight crew struck a flock of geese that were too close to avoid within about a minute and a half of take off, causing the loss of both engines power.  The loss of thrust brought forth the realization that the plane could possibly crash in one of the highest populated areas in the world.  At about 3,000 ft above the city, and descending rapidly, Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger had to take control of the plane and start looking for places to land.  At first, the thought was to return to LaGuardia, but that option was not possible.  The next thought was landing at Teterboro Airport in NJ.  This was also not an option.  The only level and large enough place to possibly land at that point was the Hudson River.  Captain Sullenberger reacted fast enough to decide to land the plane on the Hudson, and glided the aircraft ensuring the nose was up, and wings were level when landing the plane on the river.  With the help of his Co-Pilot and crew, Captain Sullenberger successfully saved 155 lives.  This feat was truly amazing in many ways, incredibly heroic, and an example of how time is precious.   It was was only a mere 208 seconds from the time of the incident to their landing on the Hudson.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

On the 5th anniversary of the  “Miracle on the Hudson”, JEANRICHARD and Captain Sullenberger launched a limited edition timepiece commemorating Flight 1549 and the fact it landed on the Hudson, with no loss of life.  The “Philosophies of Life” that Captain Sullenberger and JEANRICHARD share are what brought them together.  Striving for excellence and staying vigilant are two of these traits that especially reflect these philosophies of life, but also modesty and precision.  Captain Sullenberger was a part of the US Air Force, an aviation expert and accident investigator.  That as well as nearly 40 years of flying experience contributed to the heroic act.  The calm minded reaction of Captain Sully and his crew were also a big part of this and one of his incredibly modest quotes “We were simply doing the jobs we were trained to do”, makes you appreciate it even more.  Not an athlete, not a celebrity, but an average guy who did something unbelievably extraordinary.  A true hero.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The new 208 Seconds Limited Edition JEANRICHARD Aeroscope has highlighted the 208 seconds it took to save 155 live with red accents on both the chronograph minute’s counter and the inner dial track.  There are 3 white tracks on the inner dial that do a full 60 second lap around the dial, and a red track for the last 28 seconds displayed on the dial.  This totals up to the 208 seconds without even having to look at the sub dial.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The chronographs minute counter is highlighted in red for the first 3 minutes and with the red track showing 28 seconds, totals back up to 208 seconds.  These obviously pay tribute to the flight, but also add for great detail on its beautiful black vertical satin finished dial.  The silver embossed chronograph and seconds counter sub dials also contribute a nice contrast, and easy legibility.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The 44mm cushion shaped titanium case is also exquisitely finished using a combination of vertical satin finish as well as an elegant high polish.  This truly gives a great feel for the quality and craftsmanship that goes into the JR brand.  The other intriguing attribute on this piece is its inner cushion shaped case with DLC finish.  The case side inserts that surround the DLC portion are in titanium silver finish contributing an awesome look for the timepiece.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The sticker crown is branded with the JR logo and has a colosseum type design on the sides.  The chronographs titanium pushers are surrounded by carbon fiber composite, giving a unique and firm feel when operating.  All Aeroscope’s are 100m water resistant, and this piece is no exception.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The movement utilized is the JR66 self-winding chronograph.  The movement starts as a base Sellita SW300-1 for time keeping, which is then modified by JEANRICHARD, and a Dubois Depraz chrongraph module piggy backing the base.  This caliber has 43 jewels, 28,800bph, and a minimal of 42 hour power reserve.  The display is quite simple and easy to read with centralized luminescent skeleton hands for hours and minutes, red with luminescent tipped centralized chronograph seconds, sub dial at 3:00 for actual seconds, chronograph hours displayed at 6:00, and chronograph minutes at 9:00.  All of the sub dials hands are black and skeletonized.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

With closed case back, the 208 Seconds Limited Edition is engraved with individual serial number out of 208 pieces made.  The strap is a black Barenia calfskin strap, with white contrast stitching and dual push button deployment clasp.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The luminova is not only on the centralized hands as mentioned previously, but also each index has a small square of lume found on the chapter ring.

JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60

The JEANRICHARD Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition 60650-21O601-HD60 retails for $5,400.  Part of the proceeds of the watch will go to The American Red Cross and The Rory Staunton Foundation, two of Captain Sullenberger’s philanthropic endeavors.  As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 1-800-486-3996 or submit an inquiry through AZFineTime.com.

JEANRICHARD 208 Seconds LE For 5 Year Anniversary Of Captain Sullenberger’s Heroic Flight 1549

JeanRichard Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition

Today marks the 5 year anniversary of US Airways Flight 1549, when Captain Chesley Sully Sullenberger heroically landed the commercial passenger flight on the Hudson River, saving 155 lives, all in 208 seconds.  In honor of this courageous feat, “The Miracle on the Hudson”, JeanRichard has officially launched the new Limited Edition Aeroscope labeled, “208 Seconds” to honor their brand ambassador, Captain Sullenberger.

JeanRichard Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited EditionCaptain Sullenberger and JeanRichard’s relationship began officially at the beginning of 2013,  and both felt it was a perfect pairing.  The “Philosophy of Life” they shared and Sullenberger’s fascination by timepieces helped the two come together.  As said from the Capatain’s blog “An ordinary person with passion can accomplish extraordinary challenges. When I heard the timeless stories of JEANRICHARD (the man behind the brand) I was touched how even in the toughest situations he strived to find the funding and the artisans to be able to accomplish his ultimate goal — making a watch.”

JeanRichard Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited EditionThe new limited edition Aeroscope will feature a 44mm titanium cushion shaped case with a DLC inner case, and silver toned titanium inserts for the case sides.  The dial will be a vertical satin back with accents for the total of 208 seconds highlighted in red. The first 3 minutes on the chronograph minute counter, and the remaining 28 seconds near the outer edge of the dial.

JeanRichard Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited EditionIt is indeed very impressive to see this commemorative LE for such an iconic hero.  Last night at the launch event for the “208 Seconds”, JeanRichard also hosted a tweet chat, allowing people to submit their questions to the Captain using the hatch-tag #208seconds .  A great opportunity to ask questions about the landing itself, or his outlook on life after the event had occurred.

JeanRichard Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition

The MSRP on the JeanRichard Aeroscope 208 Seconds Limited Edition is set at $5,400 and is available for order at AZ Fine Time.  Part of the proceeds from the timepiece will go to The American Red Cross and The Rory Staunton Foundation.

Here are quotes from the official press release…
“We are privileged to have worked with Captain Sullenberger on our new “208 Seconds” Aeroscope”, said Bruno Grande, COO of JEANRICHARD. “The watch showcases the importance of time, Sully’s inspirational achievement in seconds of great urgency, and his efforts since then to continue to help change and improve people’s lives and support organizations such as the American Red Cross and the Rory Staunton Foundation. This is very much in line with JEANRICHARD’s values and philosophy of life.”

“In situations such as those on January 15, 2009, one can only rely upon your training, preparedness and the knowledge that you are serving a cause greater than yourself”, said Captain Sullenberger. “The “208 Seconds” Aeroscope I was able to design with JEANRICHARD also symbolizes the values of personal responsibility and I am grateful for their support of my philanthropic work.”

208 seconds made Captain Sullenberger a hero and the watch’s automatic chronograph movement perfectly embodies the spirit and respect that the Captain and JEANRICHARD have for time. The 208 seconds are represented by a subtle marked white and red timeline on the timepiece’s black dial. Available on a black Barenia® calfskin strap, the JEANRICHARD “208 Seconds” Aeroscope is a re-interpretation of the old aviators’ watches, and with its titanium cushion-shaped case shares a man’s most enduring dream with style. Part of the proceeds of the watch will go to The American Red Cross and The Rory Staunton Foundation, two of Captain Sullenberger’s philanthropic endeavors.

Throughout the event guests also participated in a social media challenge, where they were tasked to take a wrist shot of the new “208 Seconds” Aeroscope and post it to their Instagram account. The “Best Shot” will be re-grammed today, January 15th, through the brand’s Instagram account (@JRwatches). The winner will receive a “208 Seconds” Aeroscope watch.

In addition, guests were able to have a sneak peek at the rest of the JEANRICHARD collections, featured in a special exhibit on display at Tourneau TimeMachine until February 28th. The exhibit showcases the brand’s four core collections, Terrascope, Aquascope, Aeroscope and 1681 and delves into the inspirations behind them through earth, water, air and the brand’s history and fire of passion for watchmaking. An installation of memorable timepieces that have experienced extraordinary adventure and represent the brand’s values and Philosophy of Life can also be viewed during this special JEANRICHARD display. These include the timepiece high-wire artist Nik Wallenda wore while crossing the Grand Canyon, Captain “Sully” Sullenberger’s newly released “208 Seconds” limited edition watch and a Terrascope watch worn to the top of Mt. Everest.”

Great JEANRICHARD Launch Party At AZ Fine Time

JeanRichard Launch Party At AZ Fine TimeOn Thursday Nov. 14th, AZ Fine Time hosted our official launch party for JEANRICHARD watches and their new limited edition, the Neroscope chronograph.  The night was a success with a great turn out, tremendous interest in the brand and even a good handful of promotional items gifted throughout the night.  Of course, it wouldn’t have been a great event if we didn’t sell a few JeanRichards, but we had that covered too.  The launch party  coincided with a Davidoff cigar event featuring their Zino Platinum. They brought a mobile cigar lounge for our customers to enjoy, and this certainly added to the luxury experience of the evening.

The new Neroscope limited edition was the highlight of the evening, but all JeanRichard pieces were displayed prominently.  The feedback was tremendous from our customer base, some of which were familiar with the brand, and some who were just introduced.  National Sales Director, Paul Erhardt, was in store conversing with customers about the mechanics, quality, and philosophy behind JeanRichard.

JEANRICHARD LAUNCH PARTY AT AZ FINE TIME

To help celebrate the launch of the new JEANRICHARD Neroscope Limited Edition, Arizona Fine Time will be hosting a party today (Nov. 14th 2013), from 3-7pm, here in our retail store.  Our guest and National Sales Director, Paul Erhardt will be in store explaining the intricate details of the brand, in both its rich history as well as elaborate manufacturing process.  Guests in attendance will receive a complimentary branded highball scotch glass for coming by.  We will also have a coinciding party with Zino Platinum cigars by Davidoff, who is bringing a  luxury tour bus with smoking lounge and complimentary Zino Platinum cigars for anyone who cares to partake.  There will also be food and drinks served for all the guests in attendance.  As a sneak peak of what our in store customers will get to see, we now bring you the review of the Neroscope Limited Edition 60650-21K614-FK6A…

JeanRichard Neroscope Limited Edition 60650-21K614-FK6AAs a limited edition of only 500 pieces for the world, the new Neroscope is a variation of Aeroscope, their sky inspired chronograph.  The 44mm titanium case is treated with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) to give its stealthy black look.  The finish is composed of a vertical satin finish and matte type smooth polish, which gives the great amount of detail to something so subdued.  It’s elaborate cushion shaped case construction is visually stunning.  There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into it and with over 70 steps to complete the case work alone, there is no attention to detail that is spared.

JeanRichard Neroscope Limited Edition 60650-21K614-FK6AFor a black on black watch, legibility is something that is not commonly found.  Surprisingly, the Neroscope’s readability is better than most all we have seen from other manufactures.  The brushed vertical satin finish of its black dial not only matches the finish of the bezel, but also makes the smooth finish of the arabic numerals very clear.  The sub dials circular embossing give great contrast to the rest of the dial and its powdery like dark grey hands make for just enough difference to identify them on the black dial.  With all these minute details, it gives a complex look even though the watch is all black.

JeanRichard Neroscope Limited Edition 60650-21K614-FK6AThe chronograph module on this model is referred to as the JR66.  They start with the base movement as a SW300-1, which is then modified and secured with a Dubois Depraz chronograph module.  This movement has a rate of 28,800bph, 43 jewels, and a minimal power reserve of 42 hours.  The sub dials are laid out with the small seconds at 3:00, chronograph hour counter at 6:00 and the chronograph minutes counter at 9:00.  The pushers for the chrono are titanium with DLC and are surrounded by a carbon fiber composite, making for a great unique feel when engaging.  Overall, the construction is incredibly solid.

The Nersocope LE comes on a rubber strap with a nicely  done deployment clasp.  Its clasp is stainless steel with PVD coating and has a dual push button release.  The case back on this model is closed, and engraved with the JeanRichard logo as well as the individual serial number engraved XXX/500.

JeanRichard Neroscope Limited Edition 60650-21K614-FK6AAn anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial.  There is also a luminous compound used on all of the skeltonized hands, indexes and arabic numerals, but as with all black (or more so grey) lume, it is very faint and difficult to photograph.  It does provide a nice subtle glow at night which makes the piece legible, however, you cannot expect a bright glow out of this material.

JeanRichard Neroscope Limited Edition 60650-21K614-FK6AThe JeanRichard Neroscope Limited Edition 60650-21K614-FK6A has a retail price of $6,200.  They are finally in stock and with being such limited availability, are sure to sell out quickly.  As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 1-800-486-3996 and check us out on AZFineTime.com.
