Seiko’s Galante assortment is slowly climbing in the US with small amounts of new limited editions hitting our store each year. This year, 4 limited edition pieces will have come to AZ Fine Time, with each models own unique inspiration and motif behind much of the design element. Today, we introduce the most fierce Galante to come to the states, and AZFT, the new Galante “Fire” Spring Drive GMT Limited Edition SBLA083.
The design concept behind the Fire is “Buck-Fifty – A beautiful scar, which proves a man has protected a precious person”. Buck-Fifty is slang, describing someone getting a deep cut with a knife during a fight that required 150 stitches or more. These deep cuts are shown in the bezel, expressing damage to the body, but a mind that never breaks. The Galante Fire has what is called an “Iron Heart Dial” the reflects strong spirit, with red outlining the heart shapes in an edgy spiral pattern emphasizes the heart, meaning a strong will that carries through with beliefs and is not willing to compromise with other people. In order to protect the people you love, you must be strong and willing to push forward through anything. This is symbolization of the Galante Fire.
This model will feature Seiko’s proprietary Spring Drive 5R66 movement with GMT and independent adjustable hour hand, 30 jewels a power reserve of 72 hours and a +/- 15 second a month accuracy rating. The smooth motion of Spring Drives movement is shown through an impressive curved red second hand. The stainless steel case is 44.9mm wide and 16.1mm thick with unique V-cut shapes around the case sides and featuring Zaratsu finishing all the way around the case giving a stunning mirror finish. The strap is a black crocodile leather that has a cut and re-stitched look to it, with red accents for the stitching and side of the strap along with a 3 fold deployment clasp.
The MSRP on the Seiko Galante Fire Spring Drive GMT Limited Edition SBLA083 is $7,300 and is expected to deliver in November 2014.
