Seiko Astron GPS Solar – Official International Launch

The New Seiko Astron GPS Solar was one of the hottest items to debut at the Basel Fair of 2012. Today, in Japan, the OFFICIAL launch has begun! In Ginza, home of the Seiko owned and world renowned Wako Building, they have lit their clock tower in blue to honor the release of Astron. AZ Fine Time, will also be celebrating this release, in a slightly different way.

To start, the watches have not delivered to the US dealers yet. However, Seiko USA will be shipping out 1 of each variation Astron GPS to AZ Fine Time for Monday delivery! This is the official US release date and only 3 stores in the country will be a part of it. Please keep in mind, if you already have the Astron GPS on pre-order with us, our full initial shipment will be following shortly after, and are guaranteed to deliver by our Roadshow Oct. 26th, so your watches will be here soon.

The Seiko Astron GPS Solar is truly an incredible timepiece. It is the 1st watch in the world that will actually recognize your location and with the push of a button, update the watches time automatically to your current time zone. There is no need to adjust cities, or manually set the watch. All you need is a clear view of the sky, and the push of a button.

For the next week, in honor of the international release, the AZ Fine Time Blog will be doing daily posts, solely on the new Seiko Astron GPS Solar. This will include, written reviews, pictures, video and information on these pieces unlike what any one has seen as of yet. The watches are far more complicated than meets the eye, and Seiko has spent the last 10 years developing this “Smart Watch”, so we feel it is only appropriate to dedicate a full week as a tribute to this amazing technology.
