As a new introduction to the US market this year, the Seiko Brightz series will finally be released in small quantities in mechanical chronograph form! All models will have stainless steel cases coated in Seiko’s “Diamond Shield” clear coating for added scratch resistance and will come with sapphire crystal with proprietary super clear anti-reflective coating.
The new addition to the US line up will consist of 3 models, all featuring the in-house manufactured 8R28 chronograph movement, with column wheel and vertical clutch. The 1st model in the series is the SDGZ001 having a silver sunburst dial. The 001 will have a stainless steel tachymeter bezel and have 3 piece oyster type bracelet as the rest of the line up.
The SDGZ003 will feature a black hard coated tachymeter bezel along with black dial. The series will all have indexes at all hour marks except at the 12:00, which will have a large Roman XII. This design aspect is something you see quite frequently in Japan, and we are glad to see more like it here in the US.
The third in the series you have not seen as of yet is the new SDGZ006. This model will be the same as the 003, but with rose gold accents around the bezel, on the hands and indexes, and also also accenting the chronograph sub dials and date. All pieces in this line up will retail for $2,100, an unbelievable value for an in-house chronograph!
